modoolarT

Nothing is static. Everything can change. And so can art.

What makes Nini Bong’s works so special is precisely this: they are designed to be changeable.

modoolarT – as the name suggests – is a modular art concept. The fundamental idea is that a piece of art only becomes complete through the viewer. One natural next step from this thought is to actively involve the viewer in the creation or transformation of the work itself.

The modoolarT pieces currently available consist of specially crafted canvas modules that are assembled into one overall artwork. A typical work is made up of at least 25 or 49 individual elements. These modules can be rearranged and modified in the following ways:

  1. The existing elements can be swapped among themselves
  2. You can replace them with other compatible modules
  3. Works consisting of two or more separate paintings can be combined with each other
  4. Entirely independent original works can be brought together to form one or more brand-new compositions

Example: FEUERGRAS (Fire Grass)

  1. The piece consists of 49 modules.
  2. All of them can be freely interchanged.
  3. For FEUERGRAS I you can also insert golden elements.
  4. It would even be possible to combine FEUERGRAS I with, say, ZEN I to create something completely new.

The viewer can therefore adapt the artwork to match their current mood, or introduce entirely new elements.

modoolarT makes it possible to wake up to a different painting every single day.
